Therapeutic Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is an effective & preventative form of Physical Therapy, which involves the manipulation of muscles, tendons & ligaments.  Massage Therapy has no age limit, starting from newborns right into your senior years.  It can be used in the treatment of sports injuries, be a part of a training program or rehabilitation to aid in recovery, improve performance or simply for muscular tension from emotional stress.

Types of Massage Therapy we offer:

Sport Massage:  Great for athletes that want to prevent injuries, enhance their flexibility and increase performance.

Hot Stone Therapy:  90 minute massage session $119

Myofascial Release:

Is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into restrictive connective tissue to eliminate pain and restore motion.  Great for systemic tension, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and others.

Reflexology:

Or zone therapy is a treatment where each body part is represented on the feet and hands (sometimes ears as well).  The feet & hands corresponds with energy lines that connect the whole body and stimulates all nerve endings.  The nerve endings help to stimulate all vital organs and help promote relaxation.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Specialized type of massage which stimulates or move the excess fluid away from the swollen area so that it can drain normally.  Manual lymph drainage differs from ordinary massage, in such that it is a very gentle massage.

Massage Therapy Benefits

Massage offers a drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.  Massage has many physiological effects, such as:

  • Reduces STRESS & increases quality of life.
  • Experts believe stress accounts for 80%-90% of all diseases.
  • Improves posture.
  • Improves sleep.
  • Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs.
  • Stimulating the lymph system, the body’s natural defense, against toxic invaders.  (i.e. In breast cancer patients, massage has been shown to increase the cells that fight cancer.).
  • Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles.
  • Reducing spasms and cramping.
  • Increasing joint flexibility, range of motion, reducing the risk of injury.
  • Reducing recovery time for strenuous workouts/sports and eliminating subsequent pains of the athletes at any level.
  • Releasing endorphins, the body’s natural painkiller.  For this reason, massage is being incorporated into treatment for chronic illness, injury and recovery from surgery to control and relieve pain.
  • Reducing adhesions (scar tissue), edema & reducing and realigning scar tissue after healing has occurred.
  • Improving range of motion and decreasing discomfort for patients with low back pain.
  • Relieving pain for migraine sufferers and decreasing the need for medication.
  • Providing exercise and stretching for atrophied muscles and reducing shortening of the muscles and reducing shortening of the muscles for those with restricted range of motion.
  • But most importantly it feels good & makes you feel better.  Release all the bad energy and leaving you with a fresh mind and body.  Total rejuvenation!
